Biography
A native of Broughton, Salford , John began his professional career at the local Manchester United club, signing an amateur contract in January 1907, and a month later becoming a professional football player. [3] He made his debut in the first team on January 11, 1908 in the match of the first round of the FA Cup against Blackpool [4] . Spent 2 matches for the team in the 1907/08 season , following which United won the champion title for the first time in its history. The next season he spent two more matches. I could not get into the main team, so in the summer of 1910 left the team [3] .
In the 1910/11 season, he played for the Southport Central . In 1911 he moved to Stoke , for which he played 24 matches in the Southern League [2] . Subsequently, he played for Dartford [2] .
