Geography

The village is located on the shore of Lake Urvanovskoye in the Oka floodplain, 17 km northeast from the center of the village of Lyakhi and 35 km northeast from the district center of the city of Melenki .

History

The village was first mentioned in salary books of 1676 as part of the Urvanovsky parish , then it had 3 peasant yards [2] .

In the late XIX - early XX centuries, the village was part of the Usadsky volost of the Melenkovsky district , since 1926 - as part of the Murom district . In 1859 [3] there were 17 yards in the village, in 1905 [4] - 27 yards, in 1926 [5] - 58 yards.

Since 1929, the village was the center of the Shokhinsky Village Council of the Lyakhovsky District , since 1940 - as part of the Urvanovsky Village Council , since 1963 - as part of the Melenkovsky District , and since 2005 - as part of the Lyakhovsky Village .
