History

The Avan Academy team was created in the summer of 2017 by Ruben Hayrapetyan and consisted of graduates of the and Pyunik players of various age groups. The team, declared in the first league , was headed by the former Pyunik coach Artak Oseyan . [1] In December 2017, the president of the Tashir group of companies, Russian Samvel Karapetyan, became the owner of the club and renamed it “Ararat Moscow”. [2] [3] In June 2018, it became known that the team merged with the Russian club “Ararat” Moscow and renamed “Ararat-Armenia” will take part in the Armenian Premier League championship season 2018/19. In June 2018, Andranik Babayan [4] was appointed head coach, but was dismissed three days before the start of the championship. The new head coach was Vadim Skripchenko , who had been in this post for less than two months and was dismissed by club leaders who were not satisfied with the team’s results [5] . Since October 2018, the team began to be trained by Vardan Minasyan , who had left the Armenian team shortly before. [6]

“Ararat-Armenia” won the 2018/19 championship , ahead of “Pyunik” by one point.
