Mamedov, Jalil Farzali oglu

Born on November 12, 1910 in the village of Elizavetpolsky district of the Elizavetpolsky province (now the Geranboy region of Azerbaijan).

Member of the Great Patriotic War. On the front from June 1941, he rose to the rank of major. He fought in the 416th Infantry Division.

In 1934-1953 - head of the Yevlakh district department of national education, director of the Soviet party schools in Zakatal and Kazakh, first secretary of the Masalli district committee, secretary of the Baku regional committee of the Azerbaijan Communist Party, deputy head of the party, trade union and Komsomol organs of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan. In 1948, with its work, the over-fulfillment of the planned tobacco harvest by 25.8 percent on average in the Masalli district was ensured.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated July 1, 1949 , for receiving high yields of tobacco in 1948, Mamedov Jalil Farzali oglu was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle gold medal.

He actively participated in the public life of Azerbaijan. Member of the CPSU since 1931 . Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Azerbaijan SSR of the 2nd and 3rd convocation. Delegate of the XIX Congress of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan, where he was elected a member of the Central Committee.

He died on June 20, 1953 in Baku.
