The Golden Gargoyle is an independent music award established in 1999. The award ceremony takes place on the stage of the Moscow club “16 Tons” and is broadcast on the Internet. In 2018, more than 3 million people watched the live broadcast of the ceremony on various Internet sites. The winners are chosen by the expert council, they become known directly during the ceremony. The event is held in the format of a musical comedy show. In addition to the presenters and nominees, sports stars, fashion designers, journalists, showmen, and actors appear on the stage as participants presenting the statuette ^[1] .

Since 2018, as part of the Golden Gargoyle Award, a contest of relevant young performers Vox Populi has been held.

Figurine

The prototype of the award was a gypsum figurine from the beginning of the 20th century, acquired by the administration of the 16 Ton club in an antique store in Leeds, England. The current figurine is cast from brass in St. Petersburg and weighs almost 2 kilograms. At the moment, 221 figurines were made and presented.
