Geography
The village is located on the banks of the river Zhernovka 16 km east of the center of the village of Deryatino and 27 km northeast of the city of Melenki .
History
The village was first mentioned in salary books of 1676 as part of the Prosenitsky parish ; then it contained 6 peasant and 2 Bobyl households [2] .
In the late XIX - early XX centuries, the village was part of the Papulinsky volost of the Melenkovsky district , since 1926 - as part of the Murom district . In 1859 [3] there were 58 yards in the village, in 1905 [4] - 66 yards, in 1926 [5] - 106 yards.
Since 1929, the village was the center of the Gorodishchensky village council of the Melenkovsky district , since 1940 - as part of the Prosenitsky village council , since 1954 - as part of the Papulinsky village council , since 2005 - as part of the Deneyatinsky rural settlement .
