History
The Mari State Philharmonic was established by a resolution of the Council of People's Commissars of the Mari ASSR on August 31, 1938. During the year 114 concerts were organized. July 23, 1939, according to the decision of the Government of the MASSR, a philharmonic society created a song and dance ensemble (director A. Iskandarov ), a symphony orchestra, a brass band. The ensemble was based on the choir group, the national flavor of the choir's performances was created by the ensemble of husslers , under the direction of P. Toidemar , who joined the collective in 1940 [1] .

- State Dance Ensemble "Mari El". The artistic director and chief choreographer is the People's Artist of the Republic of Mari El, Honored Artist of Russia Asmaev Slavik Mikhailovich [2] . The musical director and conductor of the orchestra is Sergey Pchelkin.
