Leader's T-shirt
The race leader is required to wear a T-shirt of a certain color, which distinguishes him from the rest of the riders in the same way as in the Tour de France (yellow T-shirt) and Giro d'Italia (pink T-shirt). The color of the leader shirt of the Vuelta of Spain has changed several times. Organizers who revived the race after multiple pauses usually changed the color of the shirt. Since 1935, the leadership shirt was orange, in 1941 it turned white and again orange in 1942. In 1945-1950, the leaders wore a white T-shirt with a horizontal red stripe. In 1955 - by analogy with the Tour de France - the color of the T-shirt turned yellow. With the exception of 1977, when the shirt turned orange, all the years, including 1998, the shirt was yellow, after which the color got a golden hue. However, in 2010, the leadership shirt turned red.

Notes
0. ↑ Roberto Eras became the winner of the 2005 Vuelta of Spain and was awarded during a ceremony in Madrid at the end of the last stage, but it was subsequently established that he showed a positive test for drugs that increase performance during stage 20 of the race. The Spanish Cycling Federation found him guilty of using erythropoietin during the race and stripped him of his title, conferring victory on Denis Menshov . [3] However, in 2012, Roberto Eras was reinstated as champion of the 2005 Vuelta of Spain, when the Spanish Supreme Court ruled in favor of Eras, citing procedural violations related to the storage and handling of urine samples.
