Biography

1909 - Moscow University. 1909 - Junker of the fleet. 1912 - Naval Cadet Corps (naval midshipman, then midshipman). 1914 - officer diving class. He served on the minecraft "Grand Duke Alexei" and the destroyer "Hot". In 1915 - a mine officer in the submarine "Crab" .

December 3, 1916 he was promoted to lieutenant, awarded the St. George's Arms and a golden cigarette case. Senior officer of the submarine "Sperm Whale" , from March 1917 - senior officer of the submarine "Petrel".

Since September 1917 - the commander of the submarine Skat . In the Armed Forces of the South of Russia and the Russian Army before the evacuation of Crimea. From April 1919 - a mine officer of the submarine "Seal" , from the end of May 1919 - the commander of the submarine "Duck".

October 1920 - Captain 2nd rank. On March 25, 1921 - as part of the Russian squadron in Bizerte ( Tunisia ), the commander of the submarine AG-22 , 1921 - July 1922 - the commander of the submarine "Utka" .

October 1922 - December 1922 - head of the submarine division.

In 1921-1923, he was the founder and editor of the Bizerte Maritime Digest . Maritime writer, member of the Historical Commission of the Society of Former Russian Naval Officers in America .

Family

Parents: father - Alexander Nikolayevich Monastyrev (attorney at law of the Moscow Court of Justice), mother - Marya Andreyevna Monastyreva. Grandfather - Nikolai Monastyrev, priest of the Vologda province. His brother, Socrates Monastyrev , made a flight in 1922 on the Moscow - Baku route on the Ilya Muromets plane.

Wife - Monastyreva Lyudmila Sergeevna (October 15, 1891 ( Moscow ) - September 25, 1957 ( Tabarka , Tunisia )), nee Enisherlova, a doctor seconded to the Maritime Department, in the Sevastopol Maritime Hospital. In the Armed Forces of the South of Russia and the Russian Army before the evacuation of Crimea. On March 25, 1921 - as part of the Russian squadron in Bizerte ( Tunisia ).
