Chernobaev, Anatoly Alexandrovich

He was born in the family of a candidate of historical sciences, Colonel Alexander Vlasovich Chernobaev and a history teacher Alexandra Mikhailovna Mikhailova ^[2] .

He graduated from the historical and philological faculty of Moscow State Pedagogical Institute. V.I. Lenin (1963), in 1963-1966 - researcher at the State Historical Museum ; in 1966-1967 - assistant of the 1st Moscow Medical Institute . He studied at the correspondence graduate school of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute, candidate of historical sciences (1967, the dissertation "The Struggle of the Communist Party for the victory and development of the socialist revolution. October 1917-1918 (based on materials from the Tver province)").

In 1967-1968 - assistant to the deputy minister of the USSR Ministry of Higher Education .

In 1968-1983 - senior lecturer, assistant professor , professor, in 1976-1983 - head of the department of MADI .

In 1977, at Lomonosov Moscow State University, he defended his doctoral dissertation, “The Struggle of the Communist Party for the Development of the Socialist Revolution in the Village in the First Year of the Proletarian Dictatorship”. From 1981 to 1983 he worked (concurrently) at the Institute for Advanced Studies of Teachers of Social Sciences at Moscow State University .

From 1983 to 1989 - Professor, Deputy Head of the Department of Autonomy at the Central Committee of the CPSU .

From 1989 to 1991 - head of the Institute of Marxism-Leninism at the Central Committee of the CPSU .

In 1992 - chief research associate at the All-Russian Research Institute of Documentation and Archival Affairs .

Since 1992 - work at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (National Research University MPEI) : professor, head of the Department of History and Cultural Studies (1994-2001), since 2001 - professor (part-time).

Since 1993 - chief editor of the journal “ Historical Archive ” ^{[3] [4]} , chief research associate of the Archive of the RAS .

From 2001 to 2018, he was a professor at the Department of the History of Russian Statehood of the RAGS (from 2011 - RANEPA) .

Since 2018, he has been the chief specialist of the RSAASP .

Since 2019, he has been a leading researcher (concurrently) at the IRI RAS ^[5] .

He was a member of the Scientific Council of the USSR Academy of Sciences on the history of revolutions in Russia. He was a member of the expert council of the Higher Attestation Commission of the USSR ( Russia ) on domestic history (1982-2006), and the deputy chairman of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission of the USSR ( Russian Federation ) (1994-1999).

Member of the Union of Journalists of Moscow . Full member of the International Academy of Informatization (1993), the Academy of Pedagogical and Social Sciences (1995) and the Academy of Military Historical Sciences (2003).

He was married to Tatyana Petrovna Chernobaeva (1941–2016) ^[6] - candidate of historical sciences, associate professor of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation ^[7] . Hobbies A. A. Chernobaev: literature , chess (one of the founders of the public fund named after M. M. Botvinnik), hunting .

The research interests of A. A. Chernobaev include the history of Russia , historiography , archeography , source studies , historical bibliography , historical biography, socio-political history, economic history , the history of the revolutionary movement, the history of social thought.

Author of over 300 scientific and documentary publications, including in English, German, Czech, Polish, Bulgarian. Together with V. A. Dines, he published a series of bio-bibliographic references about Russian historians of the 18th – 20th centuries. He participated in the preparation of the publication of the memoirs of A. G. Shlyapnikov “Eve of the seventeenth year. The Seventeenth Year ”(vols. 1-3, 1992) and the collection of documents“ The People's Republic of China in the 1950s ”(vols. 1-2, 2005).
