Biography
Born February 14, 1937 .
In 1963 he graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute . In 1967 he graduated from the evening department of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University .
After graduating from MPEI, he remained working at this university, where he currently works. Since 1963, he passed the steps of a junior research assistant, assistant, senior lecturer and associate professor. Since 1992 - professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Apparatus, MPEI. In 1969 he defended his thesis, in 1991 - his doctorate. [2]
In 1970, Degtyar led the scientific direction in electrical equipment - the development of liquid metal contacts and electrical devices based on them. For many years, his scientific activity was connected with the research and development of unique devices for ultra-high current technology. Along with scientific, V. G. Degtyar conducts pedagogical work - is a lecturer in courses on thermal phenomena in electrical apparatus and electrical contacts. He is engaged in social and organizational work - he was the chairman of the trade union bureau of the faculty, the head of the course, the deputy head of the department for educational work, the deputy director of the IET for educational work. He participated in the development of State educational standards, curricula and programs of bachelors and masters in the field of "Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering"; He is a member of the dissertation councils of MPEI and VEI for the award of academic degrees.
