Peter Anikeevich Zaretsky [1] (1800 - after 1854) - major general of the Russian imperial army .
He came from the noble nobles of the Sosnitsky district of the Chernigov province .
In military service since 1815; from 26.2.1820 - an officer. In the middle of 1825, A. I. Tyutchev invited him to join the Society of United Slavs , but Zaretsky, noting that it had an evil intention, refused. Nevertheless, in September of that year, Tyutchev, at the next meeting, repeating his invitation, remarked that he had already recorded Zaretsky among the members of society. Zaretsky expressed his indignation and Tyutchev had to apologize. After that, Spiridov , Gromnitsky and Lisovsky persuaded Zaretsky, who, without receiving consent, "asked him to keep this, at least in secret." For failure to report on the secret society, Zaretsky was brought to justice and on December 15, 1826, "it was commanded by the highest, keeping the guardhouse for a month, to appoint 3 infantry divisions to the regiments under strict supervision of the regimental, brigade and division commanders" [2] .
He was promoted to major general on November 26, 1852. In 1854, he was the commander of the reserve brigade of the 21st Infantry Division .
For his long service, he received the Order of St. George of the 4th degree (No. 6995; December 4, 1843).
