The basic vegetable farm “Saue” ( est. Saue Köögiviljakasvatuse Näidissovhoos ) was one of the most successful state-owned agricultural enterprises in Estonia in Soviet times. He was in Sauesk village council of Harju district . Subordinate to the General Directorate of Horticulture ESSR

In Soviet Estonia
In 1946, the Saue pig breeding farm was created, in 1965 it was renamed the Sauer Indicative Vegetable-Growing State Farm, in 1980 it was named the Lenin Reference -Vegetable Vegetable-Growing Farm ( n . VILenini nim. Köögiviljakasvatuse Näidissovhoos ) [1] .
The total land fund of the state farm was 7.0 thousand hectares, the average number of employees in 1978 was 1070 people [2] .
There were 5.3 hectares of agricultural land, of which 4.2 thousand hectares were cultivated. Agricultural production employed 746 people (average number for 1977) [3]
The main branches of production are vegetable growing , floriculture , pig breeding and cattle breeding . The farm was classified as breeding farm of the 3rd class of cattle of the Estonian black-and-white breed and II class of pigs of the Estonian bacon breed [3] .
In 1977, milk production per 100 hectares of cultivated land amounted to 950 centners and 301 centners of meat [3] .
The state variety testing plot of vegetable crops and potatoes worked at the state farm. Sprinkling was carried out on an area of 170 hectares. Vegetable crops occupied 197 hectares of open and 6.2 hectares of greenhouse (including glazed greenhouses of 2.7 hectares) [3] . Indoors, mainly cucumbers and tomatoes were grown.
The state farm was carried out improvement of the central estate of the economy and the areas around its industrial buildings. At the All-Union Review in 1967, the central manor of the Saue State Farm was recognized as one of the most well-developed rural settlements [3] .
The director of the state farm since 1954 was Eduard Alba, Hero of Socialist Labor .
Awards
In 1971 the state farm was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor [3] .
In 1975, by a Decree of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Estonia , the Council of Ministers of the Estonian SSR, the Council of Trade Unions of the Estonian SSR and the Central Committee of the Leninist Communist Youth Union of Estonia, the Saue state farm was declared the winner of the republican socialist competition of 1975 and the 9th Five - Year Plan winner for overfulfilment of the assignment 9- oh Five-Year Plan for the sale of the main agricultural crops and livestock and crop products, as well as for an average of 36 quintals voschey per hectare and 3837 kilograms of milk per cow. The Sovkhoz was awarded the transitional red flag of the Central Committee of the KPI, the Council of Ministers of the ESSR, the Council of Trade Unions of the ESSR and the Central Committee of LKSME and the first monetary award [4] . By the same decree, the collective farm collective was awarded a diploma of the Central Committee of the KPI, the Council of Ministers of the ESSR, the Council of Trade Unions of the ESSR and the Central Committee of LKSME and was included in the republican book of honor for achieving the best results in the early implementation of the national economy plan for 1975 and the socialist competition for successful completion of the 9th Five-year planes [4] .

Lassman) [7] .
Independent Estonia
During the secession of Estonia from the Soviet Union, the state farm was liquidated, like all the other state socialist enterprises of the country. In 1990, an Agrofirma Saue enterprise ( est. Saue Agrofirma ) was established at its base, which ceased operations in 1994 [1] .
