Art-Myth is an international art fair held in Moscow from 1990 to 1993 at the Central House of Artists and the Central Exhibition Hall Manege .
Fair History
The first ART-MIF fair opened in Moscow on October 18, 1990 at the Central House of Artists [1] . Due to financial difficulties, the organizers of the first ART-MIF were not even able to arrange for exhibition stands - they were replaced by fabric stretched over pipes, which became a specific exhibition design in the style of “poor art” [1] .
The organizing committee of ART-MIF, which was soon transformed into OOO Moscow Art Fairs of Fine Arts, included L. Bazhanov , I. Bakshtein , M. Gelman , D. Dondurey , V. Meyland , G. Nikich, I. Tsentsiper, M. Cherepashenets [1] . The directorate of the fair was Maxim Boxer [2] .
One of the fair's price records was the acquisition in 1993 by Imperial Bank for its corporate collection of Alexander Yakut 's work Sleeping Beauty for $ 250,000 [3] .
