Scientific Interests
Specialist in the field of molecular and cellular biology, studying the structure and functioning of the genome, chemical modification of nucleic acids. He developed a method of double modification of DNA with carbodiimide and phosphoric tungsten acid. He developed a method for obtaining and luminescent-microscopic visualization of directed single-stranded breaks in the DNA of polytene chromosomes, based on the principle of complementary addressed modifications. Created a system of chemical non-radioactive labeling of both RNA and DNA probes for molecular hybridization, based on the introduction of polynucleotides by alkylation or transamination of amino groups with the subsequent addition of reporter compounds to them. Developed test systems for non-radioactive diagnosis of cattle leukemia, tropical malaria, and mycoplasma cell culture contamination. He participated in the development of a colorimetric test system for detecting point mutations. He developed a system for colorimetric detection of single nucleotide polymorphisms in several regions of the human Y chromosome. He investigated the molecular genetic mechanisms of the development of arterial hypertension and stress reactivity in animal models with stress-induced arterial hypertension. He studied the expression of key genes of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenocortical, renin-angiotensin and sympatho-adrenal systems in rats of the ISIAH hypertensive line and WAG normotensive line. He studied the nuclear and mitochondrial determinants of the trait cytoplasmic male sterility in sugar beet Beta vulgaris . Identified structural variations of mtDNA in regions of a number of genes associated with this trait.
