Joel Naftalevich Koblenz ( April 12, 1900 , Jakobstadt - May 5, 1983 , Moscow ) is a Soviet bibliographer, historian and book scholar.

Biography
Born April 12, 1900 in Jakobstadt. In 1919 he entered the Faculty of History of Moscow State University , which he graduated in 1924; after graduation he specialized in agrarian history and book science for some time. As a student at Moscow State University , from 1918 to 1919 he headed the working library, and also served as library inspector of the People's Commissariat of Education . In 1919 he was drafted into the Red Army in connection with the Civil War in the RSFSR and sent to the 10th Red Army in Vladikavkaz , where he headed the library section of the Political Department, and also participated in the 1st Congress of Library Workers of the Red Army in 1920. Created a bibliographic department at the International Agrarian Institute , which he himself later headed; in 1926 he began to publish the "Yearbook of Agrarian Literature of the USSR", which was published until 1931.
He died on May 5, 1983 in Moscow.
