History

The building was built as part of a large city estate [1] . In 1918, at first, the collegium for the formation of the Red Army was housed in the mansion, and in October of that year, after the city moved from the White Belts to Soviet power again, there was a command of the city’s commandant, commander of the 1st International Regiment of the 24th Iron Division of Slavoyar Chastek [ 2] . After the Civil War, the mansion was adapted for apartments. Among others, the composer G. F. Ponomarenko , the author of the music of the famous song “Orenburg Downy Scarf” lived in the house. Until recently, the Department of Tourism Development of the Samara Region was located in the building [1] . Now it is occupied by the Samara branch of the St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions [3] .

Architectural Features

The mansion is built in modern style . Floral motifs stand out in the decor of the building, it is “braided” by orchids, this makes it similar to the building of the Bristol-Zhiguli hotel, reconstructed by the same architect [4] . The facade of the building is asymmetrical, a large bay window on the right with windows of complex shape stands out. The building, as a rule, is closed by trees; it is well accessible for viewing only in winter [1] .
