Flag of the White Army of the Nuer
The White Nuer Army is a military organization in South Sudan , operating since 1991. It appeared as a result of a split in the organization of the SPLA . It includes the military of the Nuer people. During the 1990s, it attacked the Dinka and Murle peoples, mainly to steal cattle. Following the declaration of independence of South Sudan in 2005, the army lost its strength and unity, and about 1,000 soldiers transferred their weapons to the authorities in the Akobo region.
