Club career

Vorskla and Vorskla-2

He began playing in the Poltava Vorskla in 2001. But first, Poltava residents tested it at their farm club - Vorskla-2 . There he played until 2004, having played 56 games and conceded 91 goals. In 2005, he first played for the first club team. In total, for the first team of Vorskla, the player played 43 matches and conceded 41 goals. In 2006, he left the club.

Shakhtar (Donetsk)

At Shakhtar since December 13, 2006. I went there for 6 million hryvnias. But Shakhtar allowed the player to remain on loan at his last club until the end of the 2006/07 season. The following season, Andrei won the competition with Bogdan Shust . In 2009, his competition increased. This happened after the reinforcement of the team by Rustam Khudzhamov, who was reaching its peak. After a new struggle Pyatov again retained a place in the squad. Together with Shakhtar, he won the 2008/09 UEFA Cup . In the match against Chornomorets, he played his 100th game for Shakhtar. In 2011-2012, he completely lost to Alexander Rybka in his position and lost his place at the base, but after Alexander’s disqualification he gained a foothold there. Already in the 2015/16 season, Andrei was in second place among goalkeepers reflecting a penalty.

On October 19, 2018, he played his 400th match for Shakhtar [3] , in which the Pitmen defeated Desna (1-0) [4] at home.

Team Career

In 2004-2006, he played for the youth team of Ukraine . There he spent 20 matches and conceded 22 goals.

He joined the national team of Ukraine at the 2006 World Cup , held in Germany . Together with him at the tournament were goalkeepers Alexander Shovkovsky and Bogdan Shust . But Andrei never appeared on the field. He became the quarterfinal of the championship, in which Ukraine lost to the Italian team with a score of 3: 0.

Pyatov was not the main goalkeeper of the national team in 2008 either. All selection matches for the European Championship 2008 were held by Alexander Shovkovsky . But Oleg Blokhin, the national team coach, entrusted the match against Andrei to the match against the Faroe Islands , and Pyatov defended the match “to zero”. He also played in the match against the French team , but Ukraine could not qualify for the tournament.

He played the first match of the Ukrainian national team in the selection for the 2010 World Cup , against the national team of Belarus , which defended “to zero” (1: 0). Andrey Dikan and Alexander Shovkovsky were injured , and Alexander Rybka was disqualified. Therefore, Pyatov, Alexander Goryainov and Maxim Koval were in the national team for the home Euro. But Ukraine dropped out of the tournament taking 3rd place in the group, only 1 point behind the French team . Pyatov played all 3 matches in the tournament, having conceded 4 goals. On November 13, 2012, it became known that Andriy was appointed for one friendly match as the coach of the goalkeepers of the Ukrainian national team.

He played all the matches of the Ukrainian team in the selection for the World Cup 2014 . He became a participant in the match against the San Marino team , in which Ukraine gained its biggest victory in history (9-0). He played in the playoff match against France . In the first match, Andrey did not concede goals, but in the next match the Ukrainians did not hold the lead and did not qualify for the tournament.

Played all the matches for the European Championship 2016 . Ukraine could not enter the Euro from the group. In the last match of the group stage, he recaptured a penalty from a Spanish national team player Cesc Fabregas , but also missed one goal from Mario Gaspard . Spent two playoff matches with the Slovenian national team , in which he made a lot of saves and reacted very quickly to strikes. Ukraine in the sum of two matches won with a score of 3: 1 and qualified

He played all the matches of the national team at the 2016 European Championship . After the first two rounds, he became the leader in the number of saves, having played matches against the national teams of Germany and Northern Ireland . In both missed 2 goals. After them, Ukraine left the Euro.

In the selection for the World Cup 2018 he played all the matches. Ukrainians took 3rd place with 17 points and did not qualify for the tournament. In the yellow-blue group, they lost 3 matches - two of the Croatian national team and one of Iceland. In total, in 10 matches Pyatov conceded 9 goals, which is one of the best indicators among goalkeepers of teams that did not qualify.
