Content
Geography
The village is located on the banks of the Sudogda River, 18 km north of the center of the settlement of Zolotkovo and 29 km east of Gus-Khrustalny .
History
The village of Chiur was first mentioned in the scribe books of 1628-30, where it was listed by Vladimir Nikita and Kazan Dmitry children of Dubensky and acquired by them in 1625. In the village there was a desolate wooden church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. This church was renewed by local fiefs of Dubensky in 1698, a priest and clerk were assigned to the church, and the parish court and 5 peasant households entered the parish. When the church in Chiura was abolished is unknown [2] .
In the XIX and first quarter of the XX century, the village was part of the Davydovskaya volost of the Melenkovsky district , since 1926 - as part of the Gusevsky district . In 1859 [3] there were 39 yards in the village, in 1905 [4] - 47 yards, in 1926 [5] - 71 yards.
Since 1929, the village was the center of the Chiursky village council of the Gus-Khrustalny district , since 1940 - as part of the Lesnikovsky village council , since 2005, the village was part of the municipality "Zolotkovo Village" .
