Kuromukuro ( 勹 口 厶 勹 口 Kuromukuro ) is an anime in the genre of fur directed by Okamura Tensai , released by PA Works in honor of his 15th birthday. [1] [2] [3] The anime premiered in April 2016.

Anime was licensed for Netflix streaming and received subtitles in 10 languages. For broadcast, the company broke it into two parts of 13 episodes, although the original show in Japan came out in a season of 26 episodes. [4] [5]
Content
Story
450 years ago, aliens Efi Dolg invaded Earth. In Japan at that time, the Sengoku era was in the courtyard, but because people considered the aliens' robots “demons”. The Wasiba clan became one of the victims of the invasion, but the head of the clan, Yukihime, and her faithful vassal samurai, Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma, fought to the last. They were able to steal one of the mech robots from aliens and use it to defeat opponents. The stolen robot was nicknamed the “Black Relic” ( 黒 骸 Kurocomukuro ) , but in the end he was in the zone of an enemy explosion, and Yukihime disappeared.
60 years ago, the Black Relic was discovered during the construction of a dam on the Kurobe River . Nowadays, the UN is busy researching this find, but Efi Duty is returning to Earth. Yukina Shirahane, the daughter of the director of the research center, accidentally activates the Kuroomukuro cube, which removes the Kennosuke from him from the cryostasis . Samurai have to master with life in the XXI century and again fight with Efi Dolg. At the same time, since Yukina accidentally turned out to be biometrically synchronized with the Black Relic, she has to become the second pilot necessary to control the robot.

Reviews and criticism
Anime reviews note that getting characters from the present into the past is quite common, but transferring a character from the past to the present is a rare and original move. [6]
Studio PA Works had not previously worked on large projects in the fur genre, and Kuromukuro was her first major work in it. However, reviews mark one of the best fighting animations of robots in the genre in this anime. [6]
The series was nominated for the Japanese science fiction award in 2017, but lost the award to the movie Godzilla: Rebirth . [7]
