Biography

Born December 4, 1935 .

In 1960 he graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Electromechanical Faculty, Department of Electrical Appliances). In 1968 he defended his thesis, and in 1983 - his doctorate. He received a doctorate in technical sciences in 1984. Senior Researcher since 1971, Professor - since 1991. [1] Worked at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Apparatus. [2]

V.N.Shoffa became one of the founders of the USSR scientific and technical direction "Magnetically controlled sealed contacts (reed switches) and reed switch electrical products." He was the scientific director of many works aimed at solving theoretical and practical problems associated with the research and development of dry and mercury-soaked reed switches, as well as electrical devices based on them.

Vadim Nikolaevich was a member of the board of the Magnetic Society of the USSR, took part in working groups of various departments, was a member of the State Commissions for the acceptance of research and development work; made presentations at scientific and technical conferences, congresses and symposia. He prepared 8 candidates of sciences, was a consultant for a defended doctoral dissertation. [one]

Since 1990, under the agreement on cooperation between Russia and Poland, V. N. Shoffa participated in a joint work with the University of Wroclaw Polytechnic, for which in 2000 he was awarded the honorary golden sign by the rector of the Wroclaw University. [one]

He died on October 11, 2016 in Moscow. [3]
