Club career
Johann Fröhler began his career at the Rudolfschugel Vienna Club in 1913, acting as the center forward . In the 1914/15 season, his team reached the semi-finals of the Austrian Cup , where they lost to the Vienna “ Admira ” with a score of 1: 2. During the draw, Froeler scored 4 goals, all in the second round match against the German team.
In the Austrian championship Rudolfshugel did not occupy a leading position and was unstable, but Froehler regularly became the team's top scorer. According to the results of the 1918/19 season, Rudolfshugel took second place (one of the best club results in history), and Froeler with 14 goals became the top scorer of the championship, sharing this title with the forward of the Vienna “ Rapid ” Josef Uridil . However, in the 1922/23 season, the club flew into the Second Division. Having become the champion in the 1923/24 season, Rudolfshugel returned to the elite of Austrian football, but the next season he was again eliminated in the Second Division. At this point, Frohler completed his career.
At the end of his career, Froeler moved from the position of an attacker to the defenders .
