Nesterov, Sergey Borisovich

Sergei Borisovich Nesterov (born August 11, 1957 , Kiselevsk, Kemerovo Region) is a specialist in the field of cryotechnics, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor of the Department of Low Temperatures, MPEI. Member of the International Academy of Refrigeration (2003), member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (2010), Academy of Metrology (2016). Local historian, member of the Union of Writers of Russia (2008), member of the Council of the Union of Local Lore of Russia (2013).

Biography

Sergei Borisovich Nesterov was born on August 11, 1957 in the city of Kiselevsk, Kemerovo Region, into a family of a mining engineer. In 1974 he graduated from secondary school No. 1 (now Lyceum No. 1 named after Academician N. A. Dollezhal) in the city of Podolsk, Moscow Region. In 1980, he successfully graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI) with a degree in Cryogenic Engineering, and received a degree in cryophysics engineer. During the years of study and work at MPEI, he was a member of the Komsomol bureau, secretary of the party committee of the MPEI’s energy and physics faculty, and went to construction teams: “Sayany - 76”, “Seliger - 76”, “Moscow - 78”, “Lefortovo - 78”, etc.

After graduation, he remained there to work. From 1979 to 2002 he worked at MPEI in the following positions: engineer, graduate student, assistant, associate professor. From 1994 to 2004, he was the first deputy head of the Department of Low Temperatures at MPEI in 2004–2014, professor at MPEI. He lectured at the institute: “Cryostatization of energy systems”, “Fundamentals of nanotechnology”, “Cryovacuum technology”, etc.

In 1985 he defended his thesis on the topic “Investigation of the interaction of gas with the surface of a solid (helium cryosorption)”, in 2000 - his doctoral dissertation on the theme “Cryosorption of helium isotopes. Physical features and practical applications. "

Member of the specialized dissertation council MPEI. Under the leadership of S. Nesterov, 6 candidate dissertations were prepared and defended. He is the author of 330 scientific papers, including 10 monographs and study guides. In 2002, he organized the Russian Manor in Polivanov Museum in the Moscow Region and was its scientific adviser.

Since 2001, he worked as deputy director for research at the State Research Institute of Vacuum Technology named after S. A. Vekshinsky. In 2004 he was appointed deputy director for research at FSUE Scientific Research Institute of Vacuum Technology named after S. A. Vekshinsky. " Since 2010, he worked as the director of the scientific and educational center "Nanotechnology in microwave semiconductor electronics" at the "Research Institute of Vacuum Technology named. S. A. Vekshinsky. " Since 2017, he was an adviser to the General Director of JSC "Vacuummash".

Sergei Borisovich Nesterov is a member of the commission of the Institute of Refrigeration in Paris (2000), a member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (2010), a member of the coordination council of the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations (2015), the International Academy of Refrigeration (2003), the Academy of Metrology (2016), and the President of the Russian Scientific -technical vacuum society named after academician S.A. Vekshinsky (2015). Member of specialized academic councils of MSTU . N.E. Bauman, MAI and Kazan Scientific Research Technological University.

He wrote works dedicated to the scientific heritage of M. V. Lomonosov, K. E. Tsiolkovsky, D. I. Mendeleev, S. A. Vekshinsky, he wrote three autobiographical books: “Games, hobbies, entertainments and other activities of our childhood” (2006), “My Universities” (2006), “Three Whales” (2007), local history books on the history of the village of Polivanovo, in which he had a rest with his relatives as a child, books on the history of the village of Nagayskoye, Ryazhsky District: “Village Nagayskoye - how do I I remember him ”(2005),“ So that the candle does not go out ”(2007).

Research interests: vacuum transport systems, vacuum technologies and the aerospace complex, technologies for the formation of thin films and methods for their research; vacuum technology; nanotechnology and biotechnology; cryogenic and cryovacuum equipment.

Sergei Borisovich Nesterov was one of the founders of the MEI scientific fields: Cryovacuum Technology, Nanotechnology and Wear Resistance of Power Equipment.
