Career

Robertson joined West Bromwich Albion as a junior in July 1968 and became a professional in September 1969. He remained in the club until 1986, having played more than 500 matches as the team’s central defender and playing under the guidance of such specialists as Alan Ashman, Don Howe , Johnny Giles , Ronnie Allen , Ron Atkinson , Ron Wiley, Nobby Styles and Ron Saunders . However, only three seasons Robertson club spent in the top division. Being a tough defender, he was highly praised by the fans of the club. However, he never played for the main team of Scotland [1] .
