Story
Chu Lusiang drinks with his friend, monk Wu Hua. Gong Nanyan, from the underwater palace, suddenly appears and accuses Lucyang of stealing their magical water and committing a series of murders. She agrees to give Lucyan a month so that he can clear his name, otherwise the mistress of the palace will kill him. Lucyan’s curiosity and zeal to prove his innocence prompt him to investigate the matter.

Box office fees
The Hong Kong premiere of the painting took place on March 5, 1977 [6] . "Chu Lusyan" was in the top five hits of the 1977 Hong Kong movie distribution [7] , collecting over fourteen days 2,550,283.10 HK $ [1] .
Reaction
The reaction from the film critics is generally favorable - there are very positive responses [8] [7] [9] [10] , as well as reviews with a restrained-positive tone [11] [12] .
Digital Release
In 2003, the release of a movie on DVD from Intercontinental Video Limited of the restored version lasting 95 minutes, which contains soundtracks in Putonghua and Cantonese , as well as Chinese (traditional, simplified), English, Malaysian and Indonesian subtitles [6] . In the same year, a two-disc edition on VCD was released containing tracks in Putonghua and Cantonese and subtitles in Chinese and English [6] .
Sequel
The character of Lucyang in the person of Ti Moon is represented in two more films of the Shao Brothers studio [13] :
