"The owner of the wells" is a fantasy story by Ukrainian writers Marina and Sergey Dyachenko . The action takes place in a fantasy world peculiar to this writing duet with an Eastern European flavor.

Story
The young man Justin was brought up by a lonely old man, and then one day a girl named Anita appeared in their garden - as if from nowhere. Young people fall in love with each other, but it turns out that Anita is the daughter of the Master Kolodtsev, a certain infernal figure, and her father forbids her to be with a mortal. However, he is ready to agree to the marriage of Anita and Justin, but sets the condition for interference in the soul of both.
Justin cannot choose between his beloved and his soul ...
Protagonists
- Justin is the main character of the story. A peasant guy (however, then it turns out that he is the bastard of a local prince), kind, rustic, but with a strong and direct character.
- Grandfather is a teacher of Justin. His name is not called. Lonely old man, a little versed in witchcraft. Very attached to the pupil.
- Anita is the daughter of the Host Well, the girl is masterful, cunning to treachery, but still not evil. He looks at some things differently than other people, which is not surprising with such a father.
- Master Kolodtsev is a mysterious infernal figure. Nowhere is it directly called a god, a demon, or something else, but he is a clearly powerful supernatural creature connected with death and having some power over it and other phenomena of human life.
