Biography
From the age of ten he played in the teams of the Kladno club. In 1971-1980 and 1982-1985 he played for the team in the championship of Czechoslovakia, the five-time national champion (1975-1978, 1980), was the captain of the team. In 1980-1982 he served in the Dukla club Trenchin . In 1986-1988 he played for the Italian club " Cortina ", in which he ended his career at the age of 35. He played several matches for the Czechoslovak team , became the bronze medalist of the European Championship among juniors 1971 .
He worked as a coach in the teams “Kladno” (1989–1991), “ Saipa ” (1991–1992, Finland), “ Lucco ” (1992–1996, Finland - an assistant, head coach; head coach of the U20 team in the 1992/93 season), Sparta Prague (1996-1998, assistant), Litvinov (1998-2001, 2005-2007), Sparta Prague (2001-2002), Ilves (2003-2004, Finland), Znoemsti Orly (2007-2008), Pardubice (2008-2010).
In the summer of 2010 he moved to the coaching staff of the KHL SKA club St. Petersburg . [1] On October 20, he was appointed acting head coach after the resignation of Ivan Zanatta . [2] November 8 was approved as head coach; The contract was signed before the end of the season. On April 13, 2011 he headed the club of the second strongest Czech division - the first league - Chomutov . Despite a successful performance, the club decided to stop participating in the KHL. On November 28, 2014, Sikora was invited to the position of Severstal's consulting coach. [10] At the 2015 World Cup, he worked as an organizer for Jalonen in the Finnish national team . [11] May 20, 2015 was appointed head coach of Severstal. [12] October 29, 2015 for poor athletic performance shown by the team, was suspended from work, [13] and on November 13, the contract by mutual agreement of the parties was terminated.
