Ivar Otto Bendixson ( Swede. Ivar Otto Bendixson ; August 1, 1861 - November 29, 1935 , Stockholm ) is a Swedish mathematician , best known for his Poincare – Bendixson theorem [4] .

Biography
Born in the family of a merchant. From 1879 he studied at Uppsala University , receiving a master's degree in 1881, after which he moved to (at that time new) Stockholm University , where in 1890 he received a doctorate. [five]
