Location of Sinnanyo City in Yamaguchi Prefecture
As of March 31, 2003, the city had a population of 32718 people. The total area of the village was 64.21 km².
On April 21, 2003, Sinnanye, together with the city of Tokuyama , and the villages of Kumage (from Kumage County ) and Kano (from Tsuno County), were merged into the new city of Shunan .
