Biography
Heinrich Köbner was born on December 2, 1838 in the city of Breslau. He studied first at the university of his native city , then at the metropolitan university [2] .
In 1859, Köbner received a doctorate in medicine for his thesis “ Physiologisch-chemische Untersuchungen über Kobrzuckerverdauung ” [2] .
In 1861, after lengthy studies in Vienna and Paris , he published the following scientific papers: Pathologisch-histologische Untersuchung eines Falles von Lepra and Studien über Schankervirus (Mémoires de la societé de Biologie and Deutsche Klinik); further " Ueber Sycosis und ihre Beziehungen zur Mvcosis tonsurans " ("Virchows Archiv", 1861) [3] . Koebner's extensively set experiments on vaccinating syphilis in animals were described by him in the article “ Zur Frage der Uebertragbarkeit der Syphilis auf Thiere ” (Wiener medicinische Wochenschrift, 1863) [2] .
In 1861, Heinrich Köbner founded the first clinic for skin diseases and syphilis; practice in which served as material for the following works: " Uebertragungen aller pflanzlichen Parasiten der Haut "; " Heilungsmethoden derselben "; " Künstliche Erzeugung von Psoriasis als Grundlage ihrer Aetiologie " and others [2] [4] .
In 1869 he was invited as a privat-docent of skin diseases in Breslavl and already in 1872 he became a professor there [2] .
In 1876 he was approved by the director of the University Clinic of Skin and Sexually Transmitted Diseases founded by him [2] .
In 1884, Heinrich Köbner founded a clinic in Berlin , where he taught specialized courses for doctors [5] ; among his many students, was, in particular, Max Joseph [2] [6] .
Heinrich Köbner died on September 3, 1904 in the city of Berlin [7] .
