Biography

Clementia was born in Vienna in 1267 . She was the daughter of German King Rudolph I of Habsburg and Gertrude von Hohenberg [1] . January 8, 1281 in Vienna, Clementia married the Neapolitan Prince Karl Martell of Anjou . Their marriage was organized by Rudolph I and Pope Gregory X back in October 1275 and was supposed to consolidate the alliance of Rudolph I with King Charles I of Anjou , the grandfather of Karl Martell. Clementia was widowed when her husband died of the plague in Naples in 1295 at the age of incomplete 24 years. There are various data on the death of Clementia. One she died during childbirth in February 7, 1293, according to others - she became infected with plague at the end of August 1295. Clementia of Habsburg was buried in the Cathedral of St. George, which is now called the Neapolitan Cathedral .

Family

Clementia of Habsburg was married by Karl Martell of Anjou. Three children were born in the marriage. Children:

  • Beatrice ( 1290 - 1343 ) - wife of Jean II Dauphin of Vienne
