Born in Ternopol.

He graduated from the Leningrad Mining Institute (1963), after which he worked at the Mining Institute of the Kola Science Center of the USSR Academy of Sciences (RAS): Art. laboratory assistant, ml. Researcher, Art. Researcher, Head laboratory, deputy Director of Research, Senior Researcher (since 2010).

A scientist in the field of mineral processing. Based on studies of the hydrodynamics of the flow of particles of various shapes and physico-chemical features of the surface of the mica, he proposed technology for the enrichment of vermiculite, muscovite and phlogopite ores.

According to the results of his research, a technology was developed for the enrichment of vermiculite ores at the first Kovdor Vermiculite factory in the USSR, reserves of Kovdor vermiculite ores, deposits of the Urals and Kazakhstan were approved.

Candidate (1970) Doctor (1993) of technical sciences; professor (2006).

Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (2007). Laureate of the Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR (1987). He was awarded two medals, the badges “Excellence in the Chemical Industry of the USSR”, “Miner Glory” of the II and III degrees, “Miner Glory” of the I degree, diplomas of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and VDNKh medals.
