History

The village of Bolshaya Ruya , consisting of 29 peasant households , is mentioned on the map of the St. Petersburg province of F. F. Schubert in 1834 and to the south of it the village of Malaya Ruya [2] .

RUY - the village belongs to the department of the Pavlovsk city government, the number of residents under the audit: 107 m., 115 g. P.
RUY - the village belongs to the collegiate assessor Semevsky, the number of inhabitants according to the audit: 58 m. P., 55 w. p. [3] (1838)

As the villages of Bolshaya Ruya and Malaya Ruya, they are marked on the map of Professor S. S. Kutorgi in 1852 [4] .

RUY - the village of Pavlovsk city government, on a country road, the number of yards - 34, the number of souls - 126 m.
RUY - the village of Madame von Blandova, on a country road, the number of yards - 16, the number of souls - 65 m. [5] (1856)


RUYA BOLSHAYA - the village of Pavlovsky city government at the river Ruyka, the number of yards - 36, the number of inhabitants: 186 m., 190 g. P.;
RUY SMALL - the owner's village at the river Ruyka, the number of yards - 18, the number of inhabitants: 80 m., 82 w. paragraph [6] . (1862 year)

In the XIX - early XX centuries, the village administratively belonged to the Vyskatsky volost of the 1st zemsky district of the 1st camp of the Gdovsk district of the St. Petersburg province.

According to the Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province in 1905, the village consisted of two parts of the Rui Bolshaya , which was part of the Vyskatsky rural society and Rui 1 , which was part of the Rui rural society [7] .

According to the map of the Petrograd and Estland provinces of 1919, the village consisted of two parts: Bolshaya Ruya and Malaya Ruya [8] .

From 1917 to 1924, the villages of Bolshaya Ruya and Malaya Ruya were part of the Ruysky village council of the Vyskatsky volost of Gdovsky district.

Since 1924, as part of the Vyskatsky village council.

Since 1927, as part of the Rudny district .

In 1928, their population was 385 people [9] .

According to 1933, the village of Malaya Ruya was part of the Vyskatsky village council of the Rudnensky district [10] .

Since August 1933, as part of the Gdovsk District .

Since January 1941, as part of the Slantsy district.

From August 1, 1941 to January 31, 1944, the German occupation.

Since 1963, in the Kingisepp district .

As of August 1, 1965, the village of Bolshaya Ruya was part of the Vyskatsky village council of Kingisepp district [11] . Since November 1965, again as part of the Slantsevsky district. In 1965, the population of the village of Big Rui was 76 people [9] .

According to the data of 1973 and 1990, the village of Bolshaya Ruya was part of the Vyskatsky village council of the Slantsy district [12] [13] .

In 1997, 33 people lived in the village of Bolshaya Ruya, Vyskatsky volost, in 2002 - 37 people (Russian - 97%) [14] [15] .

In 2007, 50 lived in the village of Bolshaya Ruya, Vyskatskogo joint venture , 57 in 2010, 74 in 2011, 85 in 2012, 78 in 2013, 74 in 2014 [16] [17] [18 ] ] [19] [20] [21] .

Geography

The village is located in the southern part of the district on the highway 41K-188 ( Gostitsy - Bolshaya Pustomerzha ) at the junction of the highway 41K-798 (Bolshaya Ruya - Big Horns ).

The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 2.5 km [16] .

The distance to the nearest railway platform Slates is 20 km [11] .

The river Ruya flows through the village.
