The village is located in the southwestern part of the Lipetsk region, in the forest-steppe zone, within the Central Russian Upland , on the right bank of the Olshanets River, at a distance of about 9 kilometers (straight) north-north-west (NNW) from the village of Terbuny , the administrative center of the region . The absolute height is 191 meters above sea level [2] . The climate is temperate continental with warm summers and moderately frosty winters. Annual precipitation is 450–500 mm. The average January temperature is −9.5 °, July - + 19.5 ° [3] .
