The village is located in the southwestern part of the Lipetsk region, in the forest-steppe zone, within the Central Russian Upland , on the left bank of the Kurgan River (a tributary of the Olym River), at a distance of about 8 kilometers (straight) to the north-west of the village of Terbuny , the administrative center of the region . The absolute height is 172 meters above sea ​​level [2] . The climate is temperate continental with warm summers and moderately frosty winters. Annual precipitation is 450–500 mm.
