Popelnyansky cannery ( Ukrainian: Popilnyansky cannery ) is an enterprise of the food industry in the urban-type village of Popelnya, Zhytomyr Region .

History
The decision to build a large canning factory in Popelny was made in the mid-1960s, in 1966 the Popelnyansky canning factory was built and put into operation in accordance with the eighth five-year plan for the development of the national economy of the USSR . Initially, the production facilities of the enterprise provided the production of 5 million cans of fruit and vegetable canned goods of 40 items per season [2] .
During the gasification of the village in 1971, the plant was connected to the gas pipeline " Dashava - Kiev " [2] .
As of the beginning of 1973, the plant’s products were supplied to the USSR retail chains and were also exported to Hungary , Poland and Czechoslovakia [2] .
In Soviet times, the plant was one of the leading enterprises in the village [2] [3] [4] .
After the independence of Ukraine, the state enterprise was transferred to the balance of the regional consumer union. In the future, the plant began exporting canned food to China and Japan, but in the 1990s the economic situation of the enterprise was complicated and in 1999 production was stopped [5] .
In early 2004, the Kiev company Monolit LLC became the owner of the plant, which decided to carry out a partial reconstruction of the plant: a new steam boiler was installed at a cost of 1 million hryvnas and two canned meat and vegetable production lines were restored. In July 2004, the number of employees of the plant was 150 people [5] .
The economic crisis that began in 2008 complicated the situation of the enterprise, due to the presence of overdue receivables in February 2012, the National Bank of Ukraine revoked the license of the company for conducting foreign economic activity [6] . The plant completed the year 2012 with a loss of 673.8 thousand hryvnias [7] .
As of 2013, the plant was one of the largest operating enterprises in the Popelnyansky district [7] .
