In The Yardbirds, Relf performed from 1962 until its disintegration in 1968 .
After the breakup of Relf in 1969, along with Paul Samwell-Smith and Jim McCarthy of The Yardbirds, as well as bassist Louis Senamo, pianist John Hawken, and his sister Jane (as the second vocalist), he organized the band Renaissance , but in such a composition she did not live long and, having recorded two albums - Renaissance ( 1969 ) and Illusion ( 1971 ), broke up. In the next composition of Renaissance Relf did not participate.
In 1975, Keith Relf assembled a new team: Armageddon, which was also played by bass player Luis Sennamo, guitarist Martin Pug and drummer Bobby Caldwell. Armageddon played heavier music than The Yardbirds. Relf's group was supposed to warm up Eric Clapton on his 461 Ocean Boulevard tour, but for a number of reasons Armageddon was unable to tour. By that time in 1975 the self-titled album of the collective was recorded.
On May 14, 1976, Keith Relf died while playing an electric guitar at home that was not properly grounded. Death occurred as a result of an electric shock. The story that Keith Relf died while playing a guitar in a bathroom (or shower) is nothing more than a legend.
