Eduard Boas ( German: Eduard Boas ; 1815-1853) is a German entrepreneur , writer, and literary historian of the 19th century.

Biography
Eduard Boas was born on January 18, 1815 in the city of Landsberg-on-Wart [2] (now Gorzow Wielkopolski , Poland).
Boas was first a merchant, and then, after a long journey through Southern Europe , devoted himself exclusively to literature . In addition to his native city, he lived in Dresden, Berlin, Weimar. Most of all he was fond of the brilliant period of German literature , and his three-volume study of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe ( Nachträge zu Groethes sämmtlichen Werken , 1841; 2nd edition - 1859) put his name along with the best experts on the author Faust [3] .
Great success also fell on his three-volume study “ Nachträge zu Schillers Werken ” ο Friedrich Schiller , which was published in 1839 [3] [4] .
Further work of Boas in the field of fine literature created him the name of a subtle and deep connoisseur of German classics.
In the book Des Kriegskommissars Pipitz Reise nach Italien (4 vols. 1841), he reflected his early travel impressions; it should also be noted his " Sprüche und Lieder eines indischen Brahmanen ".
Edward Boas died in his hometown on June 29, 1853 [2] .
