Biography
Born in 1934 in Belgorod.
He graduated from high school in the city of Ulaanbaatar of the Mongolian People’s Republic . After graduating from school in 1953 he entered the Moscow Power Engineering Institute with a degree in Power Plants, Networks and Systems, Faculty of Power Engineering. After graduating from the institute in 1959, he worked as a shift power engineer, head of the high-voltage section, deputy head of the electric shop and deputy chief power engineer of the Podolsk Machine-Building Plant named after S. Ordzhonikidze. In 1962, leaving his industrial career, he entered the graduate school of MPEI. After graduate school, since 1969, he worked at the institute as an engineer, senior researcher, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor at the Department of “High Voltage Techniques and Electrophysics”. In 1983 he defended his doctoral dissertation and since 1985 has the title of professor. He worked in the dean’s office of the EEF MPEI: first he was the deputy dean, and then in 1982 he was elected dean of the faculty by competition. He led the faculty unchanged for seventeen years. In the last years of his tenure as dean, he worked concurrently as deputy head of the department of relay protection and automation of power systems. After the transformation of faculties into institutes, Maximov became the first director of the Institute of Electric Power, having stayed in this position until 2000, and until 2005 worked as deputy director. In recent years, working at MPEI has been writing textbooks, manuals, monographs and articles. [3]
For a long time, Boris Konstantinovich worked as a member of the expert council of the Higher Attestation Commission of the USSR. He is a full member of the International Energy Academy, a member of the editorial boards of the journals "Energy" and "Energy. News of universities and energy associations of the CIS ”, as well as deputy academician-secretary of the department“ Electric Power Engineering ”of the Academy of Electrotechnical Sciences of the Russian Federation.
He was an adviser to the director of the Institute of Electric Power Engineering, NRU MPEI.
Merit
