Sebastian Lepap ( fr. Sébastien Lepape ; born June 4, 1991 , Montivilliers , France ) - French short-track player , winner of the European Short Track Championship of 2018 [1] ; two-time winner of the different stages of the World Cup short track season 2010/2011 and 2015/2016 . Member of the 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics .

Sports career

Sebastian Lepap was born in Montivillier , in the Normandy region of France. Since childhood, he skated, after one of his friends invited Sebastian to see how he rides in a short track. From the age of eleven to the present he has been training at the Club de Vitesse sur Glace du Havre club, Le Havre . The national team is responsible for its preparation - Louis Mathieu . Lepap has a degree in sports management, which he received at the University of Perpignan - Via Domitia [2] .

Lepap won the first medal at international competitions at the first and second stages of the 2010/2011 short track World Cup . October 23, 2010 at the Maurice Richard Arena in the men's 1000 meter race he finished first with a score of 1: 31.096. The second place was taken by an opponent from Canada ( Michael Gilday , 1: 31.120 (+0.02) - 2nd place) and the USA ( Travis Jayner , 1: 31.208 (+0.11) - 2nd place) [3 ] [4] .

At the 2018 Winter Olympics , the second of his career, Sebastian Lepap was declared to participate in the race at 500 , 1000 and 1500 meters [5] . On February 10, 2018, in the Gyeongpo Ice Hall, he completed the 1,500m race for men with a score of 2: 11.967. In the final standings, Lepap took 15th place [6] . On February 13, 2018, in the Gyeongpo Ice Hall, with a result of 1: 23.489, he finished third in the qualifying race for 1000 m of the fifth group and, thus, completed the further struggle for medals.
