History
Initially, the frigate Fredensborg had a different name, it was called Cron Prindz Christian . The construction of the ship began in 1752 . It was launched 1753 . The ship was used for trade in the Caribbean . In 1756, Espen Kiyoings became the captain of the ship; in the same year, the frigate was renamed Fredensborg. In June 1767, the ship sailed from Copenhagen to Danish Guinea [2] . During a 7-month stint on a raid in Christiansborg harbor, several crew members, including Captain Kiyönings and his senior assistant, died in an accident and tropical fever . The helmsman Johan Franzen Ferenc took command of the ship. April 23, 1768 Fredensborg with a cargo of goods, ivory , gold and 265 black slaves went to the Virgin Islands . July 17 or 18, 1768, the frigate arrived in Santa Cruz . All the slaves were sold there and the timber of valuable tropical trees was purchased. After that, Fredensborg again went to Denmark, but during a storm on December 1, 1768, he ran aground and sank near the Norwegian city of Arendal . In September 1974, the remains of the ship were discovered by divers.
