Career

Ramon Cenhuisern began to practice skiing in his native canton of Valais . Despite the high growth, suitable for specialists in high-speed disciplines, the Swiss chose slalom for his specialization.

Since 2007, Tsenhuisern began to play in the international arena in races organized under the auspices of FIS . At the beginning of 2011 he made his debut in the European Cup, and at the end of that year he won his first victory in this tournament.

He made his World Cup debut in Finnish Levi on November 11, 2012 , where he showed the 64th time in his first slalom attempt, ahead of only seven athletes. In the same season, at the home stage in Adelboden, he finished in 22nd position, gaining the first cup points. At the 2013 World Junior Championships in Canada, he won silver in slalom, losing only to Austrian Manuel Feller . In the same year, he performed at the adult world championships in Schladming , but he retired on his first slalom attempt.

In 2014 he made his debut at the Olympic Games . In Sochi, he performed only in slalom and took 19th place, although after the first descent he was only 39th. A year later, he won gold at the Universiade in Spain.

A breakthrough in the results of Tsenhoyzern came in the 2017/18 Olympic season . In January, at the prestigious stage in Wengen, he became fourth in slalom, and in his last pre-Olympic start - parallel slalom in Stockholm, won his first career victory.

In Pyeongchang, the Swiss performed in two types of ski programs. In the slalom after the first attempt, he went only in ninth place, but showed the second time in the second and in the sum of two attempts he became the second, having won a silver medal. In the team tournament, Cenhuisern won his duel fights in all rounds and helped the Swiss win gold medals.

In 2019, at the World Championships in Auray, he won gold in the team championship as part of the Swiss national team. Ramon finished fifth in slalom.
