Biography
Bill D'Amico was considered one of Lake Placid's best athletes. He was engaged in skiing, speed skating, played American football and golf, but was most interested in bobsledding. Member of the Second World War. The champion of the USA of 1941 among fours, the champion of North America of 1942 among crews of twos. In 1948, together with Ed Rimkus, Pat Martin and Francis Tyler, he won the gold medals of the 1948 Olympic Games in St. Moritz. In 1949 and 1950 he won the World Championship among fours [1] , and in 1950 received a silver medal among the crews of twos. He later opened the restaurants Lake Placid and Chicken Coop Restaurant.
