Biography

He graduated from Tomsk State Pedagogical Institute (1971), Tomsk State University (1978), philosophical graduate school there (1983) and doctoral studies at the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1999). In 1990, he completed a one-year internship at the heads of the departments of social sciences at the Institute for Advanced Studies at Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov . He improved his qualifications at the USSR Academy of Sciences (1989), at the Institute of the History of Natural Science and Technology (1993) and at the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1997 and 2000).

In 1983 at Tomsk State University he defended his thesis “Social nature of technology. Theoretical and Methodological Aspects ”, specializing in dialectical and historical materialism. In 2000, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences with a degree in Philosophy of Science and Technology: “Theoretical and Methodological Foundations of the Analysis of Engineering and Engineering Activities”. The Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in two specialties: the philosophy of science and technology.

More than 45 years he worked as a teacher of philosophy, logic, sociology and political science at the universities of Tomsk, Tver, Moscow. He went from assistant to professor emeritus, headed the departments of philosophy and general humanitarian disciplines. Over the past 10 years, he was deputy director for research and information technology at the TF of the Moscow Humanitarian-Economic Institute, and from 2007 to 2009 he was the director of the institute. Over the course of 12 years, he conducted classes with Latin American students and graduate students in design philosophy and methodology, and was the supervisor of studies for writing candidate and doctoral dissertations. He organized and took part in 15 international conferences, symposia and congresses on logic, philosophy of science and technology. He participated in discussions on the exchange of scientific and technical experience with scientists and teachers of technical universities and research institutes in the USA, Germany, England, France, Canada.

Research interests: philosophy and history of science, technology, engineering and technology. The author of 300 scientific, educational and methodical works in domestic and foreign publications, including 8 monographs.

Created a new direction in the study of engineering design of engineering and technology, based on an integrated concept of technical reality. The research results are widely used in the implementation of targeted research programs of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as in the justification and implementation of new forms of labor organization of engineering and technical workers. Monographs prepared by the author, brochures and study guides are used in the lecture course, being included in the list of compulsory literature in the preparation of the candidate minimum in the history and philosophy of science and in the preparation of masters in philosophical problems of science, technology, engineering and technical knowledge.
