Sergei Alexandrovich Vasiliev (born , ) is a Russian economist and politician, doctor of economic sciences .

Biography
In 1979 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Finance and Economics with a degree in Economic Cybernetics .
From 1979 to 1990 - economist, senior economist, senior researcher, head of the laboratory of the Leningrad Financial and Economic Institute.
In March 1990, he was elected deputy of the Leningrad City Council , from 1990 to 1991 - Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Economic Reform of the Leningrad City Council.
In 1991-1994 he was the head of the Work Center for Economic Reforms under the Government of the Russian Federation [1] .
From 1994 to 1997 - Deputy Minister of Economy of the Russian Federation.
From 1997 to 1998 - First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Government of the Russian Federation .
From 1999 to 2001 - President of the International Center for Social and Economic Research " Leontief Center ".
Since 2000, the supervisor of the St. Petersburg branch of the Higher School of Economics [2] [3] .
From 2001 to 2007 - Member of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation from the executive body of state power of the Leningrad Region (since 2002 - Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Financial Markets and Money Circulation).
Since June 2007 - Member of the Management Board of Vnesheconombank State Corporation.
Since October 2010 - Deputy Chairman of Vnesheconombank.
