Rapport

Plain weave rapport

Rapport ( fr. Rapport , from rapporter - bring back) - the basic element of the ornament , part of the pattern, repeated many times on fabric, knitwear, embroidery, carpet, wallpaper , etc. Also, the smallest number of threads, beads, etc. the manufacture of the pattern, after which the order of their mutual overlap is repeated [1] .

Weave Rappage

The number of warp threads, after which all previous weaves of the main threads begin to be repeated in the same order, is called the main rapport . A similarly defined rapport for weft threads is called a weft rapport . A rectangle made up of warp and weft yarns, the number of which is equal to the corresponding rapport, is called a weave rapport of fabric .

In knitting - the repeating part of the pattern. The rapport for each pattern has a certain number of loops in width and a certain number of rows in height. Rapport is usually highlighted on the diagrams, and in the text the beginning and end of the rapport are indicated with asterisks (* ... *). Loops for the symmetry of the pattern indicate before and after rapport. This means that the loops indicated before the rapport are first knitted, then the combination of the rapport loops is repeated as many times as it fits entirely to the end of the row, and finally the loops indicated after the rapport are knitted. The number of loops of the row should be a multiple of the number of loops of rapport, and loops for symmetry of the pattern are indicated additionally. The two extreme loops are not included in the number of loops forming the pattern; they should only be considered when hinging.

Rapport in sewing - a repeating part of the pattern on the fabric, knitted fabric, embroidery, etc. It happens of various sizes - from 1.5-2 cm to 40-45 cm. A large rapport requires additional fabric consumption (at least by its size). If the rapport is clearly expressed, then when cutting it is necessary to lay the patterns so that the central fragment of the picture is in the middle of large parts (backs, shelves), and the horizontal level of the picture is the same throughout the product and matches the level of the picture on large set-in details.

Rapport in weaving is a repeating part of macrame nodes, reflected in the diagram, and the colors of the threads of the same rapport may vary depending on the number of rapports.
