European Junior Curling Championship 2010

The European Junior Curling Championship of 2010 was held from January 3 to 8, 2010 in Prague ( Czech Republic ) for male and female junior teams (participants age not more than 21 years old). The tournament was held for the 6th time.

The championship was attended by 13 men's and 10 women's teams.

Championship winners received the right to speak at the 2010 World Junior Championships .

In the men's tournament, the champions (for the first time in their history) were the Finnish national team, who won the French national team in the final. The national teams of the Czech Republic and Estonia (losers in the semifinals) won bronze medals.

In the women's tournament champions became (the 2nd time in their history) the German national team, who defeated the Danish national team in the final. The Norwegian team won bronze medals.

Men

Competition Format

Teams are divided into two groups of 6 teams (in group A - 7 teams) and play each other in a circular system in one circle. The two best teams from the group go to the playoffs , where they play in the Olympic system : semi-finals and final. The match for 3rd place is not held, both teams that lose in the semifinals receive a bronze medal.
