Tao Junyi ( 1329-1410 ) is an outstanding Chinese historian from the end of the Yuan dynasty and the beginning of the Ming dynasty .

Biography
Came from an intellectual environment. Born in Nancuni (part of modern Taizhou in Zhejiang ) in the family of Tao Yuguang, an artist. Received a classical education. In 1348 he moved to Beijing, where he failed during the imperial exam. He returns home, abandoning the career of a civil servant. After the overthrow of the Yuan dynasty in 1368, he settled at that time in the village of Shanghai , where he died in 1410.
Creativity
He wrote a significant part of his works during his stay in Beijing and after his return (until 1370). The most significant of these are “Essays on History” and “Essays on the Female Chambers of the Yuan Owners” (final version in 1376). While living in Shanghai, he created a work on agriculture, as well as a series of poems on rural subjects, on the life and customs of Chinese peasants. One of the most famous poems is “Wedding”. At the same time, he turned to love lyrics.
