Roda (football club, Moscow)

Roda is a Russian football club from Moscow that existed in 1995-1998; in 1998, it joined the Kolomna football club together with the Giant football club ( Voskresensk ). The best achievement in the championship of Russia - fifth place in the 3rd zone of the third league in 1997.

Content

History

The club received professional status and was accepted to the PFL before the start of the 1996 season [1] . As a result, the team took 6th place with 20 participants [2] . Midfielder Viktor Voronkov became the best scorer of Rody , who scored 12 goals [3] In the offseason, the team took part in the Starostin brothers memory tournament, which reached the final, losing to the backup team of Moscow Spartak [4] .

The next season, 1997 , despite removing six points for debt [5] , the team took 5th place [6] . Victor Voronkov again became the top scorer with 20 goals [7] . Although Roda won the right to play in the second division for the next season, the difficult financial situation did not allow her to continue speaking. The initial plan was to unite the club with Shchelkovo 's Spartak [8] , but as a result, together with the Giant from Voskresensk it merged with Kolomna [9] .

The team spent most of their home games not in Moscow, but in Zheleznodorozhny , at the Keramik stadium [10] . The only founder [11] and president of the club was businessman Oleg Sienko [8] .

The first player in the history of the PFL who played in Cameroon , Guy-Martin Ngaha-Chamoa , played in the “Childbirth” [12] .
